Radio Nepal celebrates 71st anniversary

April 2, Kathmandu: The oldest broadcasting house of Nepal – Radio Nepal – is celebrating its 71st anniversary on Friday.

Having started its broadcasting service on Chaitra 20, 2007 B.S. ( April 2, 1951), Radio Nepal is currently operating via 24 FMs, 5 Medium Wave, and its online portal.

President Bidhya Devi Bhandari has given her best wishes to Radio Nepal on its 71st anniversary.

In a message of best wishes, President Bhandari emphasized making Radio Nepal more effective and people-centric.

Likewise, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that Radio Nepal has played a pivotal role in broadcasting news and information and promoting Nepali music and culture.

Giving his best wishes on the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Radio Nepal, PM Oli suggested making Radio Nepal a citizen-centric broadcasting house.

Similarly, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Parbat Gurung wished for Radio Nepal to become even more people-oriented.

Likewise, Communications Secretary and Chairman of the Radio Broadcasting Service Development Committee Hari Prasad Bashyal has said efforts are being made to take Radio Nepal’s services to every household of Nepal.

Secretary Bashyal also emphasized making Radio Nepal programs and news more effective.

Also giving his best wishes, Radio Nepal’s Executive Director Buddhi Bahadur KC expressed the organization’s commitment to enhance and evolve Radio Nepal as per the changed context and time.
